Dr. Stephanie Fotorny
Veterinarian, Owner of the Pet Doctor
Dr. Fotorny was born and raised in upstate New York. In 2003, she received a Bachelors of Science from Clemson University, in 2007, a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University, with finishing at the University of Georgia. She has extensive experience in both corporate and private practice, and shelter medicine. She has been practicing in the Myrtle Beach area since 2007. Dr. Fotorny currently has one English bulldog named Fletcher who is the CEO in training, and his side kick assistant Fredrick the French Bulldog.
Dr. Heather Caplan
Veterinarian, Owner of Grand Strand Equine
Heather Caplan was born in Miami Beach, Florida and lived in South Florida until she and her family moved to Toms River, New Jersey when she was a freshman in high school. While living in New Jersey Heather began working at Walnridge Farm, a standardbred breeding facility and veterinary hospital. She completed her undergraduate studies at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree in Biology she attended Drexel University in Philadelphia graduating with a Masters in Laboratory Animal Medicine. Heather was then accepted to veterinary school at the University of Florida. In her free time Heather enjoys running, biking, crossfit, watching college sports and reading. She has competed in several triathlons and completed two marathons. Dr. Heather is married to Daniel Brass and they recently had twins Jackson and Lillian. She also has a white dog named Velo that sometimes rides along.

Office Administrator
Brenda moved to the Myrtle Beach area in 2012 from Pennsylvania. She has spent her career working in the Human Resource field, both as a professional and as a teacher. She began transitioning her career by consulting with The Pet Doctor on human resource issues. She is now excited to be working part time in an administrative capacity with The Pet Doctor. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her two rescues, Bayleigh and Darbeigh.
Office Administrator
Lorraine grew up in the Bronx, then moved to California where she began working with animals. After 23 years she returned to New York, but missed the California heat and ended up in Myrtle Beach. Now she works in administration, but enjoys visiting the dogs and cats in our waiting room! She lives with 3 dogs, 6 cats and 1 African Grey parrot who happily tells the dogs to “be quiet”.
Veterinary Technician
Lisa has been a resident of Myrtle Beach for four years. A New Jersey native who worked in a physical therapy office for nine years before relocating to South Carolina. Her passion for animals was what brought her to the decision to leave the human medical field and pursue a career as a veterinary assistant. Lisa spent four years with another area clinic before we were so blessed to add her to our team. Lisa enjoys spending time with her daughter and their three Staffordshire Bull Terriers Aiden, Ready and Bubba. Her dogs lead an active lifestyle by participating in a variety of dog sports from lure coursing to weight pulling. An advocate for responsible dog ownership and training, Lisa’s pets boast a number of titles from AKC Canine Good Citizen, obedience, Rally-O, Lure Coursing, Therapy dog, temperament Test and Weight pull. As you can see Lisa spends a lot of time with her pets and is very proud of their accomplishments.

LeTavious R. Hemingway was Born and raised in Conway, South Carolina. He joined The Pet Doctor team in 2012 after getting a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Morris College. With amazing on he job training he became a veterinary technician who loves the job with every fiber of his being. When he isn’t drawing blood, placing catheters, and helping treat pets he’s an avid writer. He’s started his own blog, which can be found on, and published two novels. Also, he is the writer of the Official Per Doctor Blog. He moved in 2015 to Augusta, Georgia with his beautiful wife Devin, his tabby cat Kahn, and two rescue pit bulls Bruce, and Wayne.

Jelisa was born in Queens, NY and moved to Conway when she was 15. She always had a love for animals and had many pets growing up. She went to school to study veterinary technology to fulfill her dream of working alongside the doctors to help every pet be healthy and happy, and to have every pet owner know that we care about their pet as much as they do. She currently has 4 dogs and a Bearded Dragon.

Nick was born in California and moved to South Carolina when he was 5 years old. He graduated from Socastee High School in 2015. Nick has a dog, Oreo, who he enjoys spending time with. Nick also loves sports! You can find Nick watching sporting events during his free time, especially hockey. Go Rangers!

Hi my name is Christina.  I was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland.  I moved to Myrtle Beach in 2014.  I enjoy spending time with my three cats and going to the beach.  I have been working in the veterinarian field for over 20 years.  Working at The Pet Doctor has been a wonderful experience and very rewarding.

After moving from one place to the next with his family, Jesse settled down in Myrtle Beach 6 years ago and pursued his career as a vet tech shortly after. He loves animals of all kinds and doing what he can to help better their lives. He currently has a cat named Archie, but cannot wait to get a dog in the near future.

Hi, I'm Brittany, 28 years young. I grew up and lived most of my life in Lexington, S.c. I have been working as a veterinary technician for around 4 years now. I moved to the Myrtle Beach area the end of 2017 and I just recently started working at The Pet Doctor and it already feels like home. In my free time I enjoy going to reggae concerts and spending time with my boyfriend and my dogs Gemma and Kain.

Beth was born and raised in the Myrtle Beach area. After working in motorsports for 10 years, she transitioned into the animal care field. Her animal family consists of Sampson the Great Dane, Bella the Boxer, a rabbit and a large aquarium. She states that she is “beyond excited to be part of the Pet Doctor family”.

Izzy, originally from Amherst Ohio, has lived in Conway about 4 years. When he is not working at the kennel, he is working in Surfside at the Nostalgia Museum. He has five dogs of his own: Roxas-a miniature Dachshund, Hades-a miniature Doberman/Chihuahua mix, Molly-a miniature Greyhound/Chihuahua mix, & two of the pups from Molly and Hades first litter named Peanut ‘Butta’ & Jelly. On his days off, Izzy likes to hang out at the local dog parks or be home playing video games cuddled up with his fur babies watching movies.

Hello, my name is Ron and I'm at the ripe age of 41. I've spent most of my life in the Cleveland Ohio area so I'm super excited to now reside in the Myrtle Beach area. Working at The Pet Doctor Doggie Daycare & Boarding is fulfilling and enjoyable. I'm a US Army vet and have worked with animals for many years. I have 2 dogs, Max (Lab mix) and Buddy (Pit mix). I am originally from South Central Pennsylvania but I made a recent nice to North Myrtle Beach in April 2018. Dogs are my passion and I absolutely love working with them. I have a Beagle who is 7 years. We have had her since she was 6 weeks old! In Pennsylvania, I worked at an animal shelter, I knew then this is what I wanted to do. In my free time, I love listening to music, reading, watching sports, going to the beach when I can, and of course playing with my dog.

My name is Destiny Dunn. I am 26 and from Georgia. I grew up around animals. I went to school to be a Veterinary Assistant. I have worked the most with dogs, horses and cows. I currently have 2 dogs. Dixie, my red nose pitt bull and Hunter, my Feist. They are more my children than dogs and are spoiled rotten. In my free time I love to read, be in the sun, and spend time with my husband and family. Hello, My name is Daniel. I am 18 years young. I have been apart of the Pet Doctor Doggie daycare and Boarding staff for a year now. I have a new puppy named Luna who is a Blue nose Pitbull. When I am not working I enjoy hanging out at the pool, riding bikes/finding trails,or cruising the strip. I love Logan's Roadhouse considering steaks and rolls are my favorite thing to eat. My name is Kayla, and my background is in marine science. I started working in an animal hospital about 5 years ago, but joined the pet doctor doggie daycare staff almost a year ago. I have worked with a wide variety of species, but I ove caring for dogs. I have 2  German shepherds, a chihuahua amd 9 sugar gliders at home.

Micheala was born and raised in Mid Missouri and relocated to the Myrtle Beach area to attend Coastal Carolina University in 2011. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science in December 2014. She is currently studying Veterinary Medicine at Ross University in St. Kitts, and hopes to one day open her own practice. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, surfing, scuba diving, hiking and traveling. We know she misses us and we miss her too!!!
